What we do

3D modelling, 3D reconstruction

A journey through the history of one of art's geniuses. Get ready for a unique experience as Michelangelo's legendary Moses statue and different versions of Pope Julius II's tomb come to new life in a journey between art and technology.

An extraordinary feat combining 3D modelling and cutting-edge visual effects (VFX) for the documentary Michelangelo - Santo e Peccatore (Saint and Sinner), produced by Sky and Quoiat Films, and directed by Chiara Battistini.

Michelangelo's Challenge

Retrace the complex history of Pope Julius II's tomb thanks to the ambitious undertaking by Dot Beyond, which recreated four of the six versions designed by Michelangelo, including the final version that now stands in the church of San Pietro in Vincoli in Rome.

This project tested our capabilities, pushing us to achieve the seemingly impossible: using Unreal Engine 5, working side-by-side with architects, art historians and cultural specialists, and inspired by Frommel's studies, we returned a never-before-seen vision of Michelangelo's genius.

3D modeling and visual effects

A key aspect of this 3D reconstruction was the digitization of the imposing statue of Moses, 235 cm tall and 210 cm wide, the statue was meticulously scanned and integrated into the virtual mausoleums. In addition, we created extraordinary visual effects that you can see in the documentary produced by Sky and Quoiat Films.

When the past meets the future, the result is pure wonder
